Youth Leadership Toledo

Each school year, Youth Leadership Toledo (YLT) prepares 60 area high school sophomores to make an impact in their school and communities. In addition to skill building, It immerses participants in a range of issues and topics, helping them realize their leadership potential and connect with influential leaders across the community.

YLT sessions take place monthly from August to May during the school day. Each session is focused on a different topic that helps participants learn about themselves, the community, and how they can make a positive impact right now.

Goals for members of Youth Leadership Toledo:

  • LEAD – Become a more confident leader.
  • CONNECT – Become more connected to your community.
  • GROW – Grow stronger in self-awareness.
  • SERVE – Find meaningful service through group projects.

Participants are initially identified through a nomination process at their school in the winter of their freshman year. Nominees are then invited to fill out an application, and participants are then selected based on those applications.
