Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence (YIPEE) teaches high school juniors and seniors about community needs and the elements of thoughtful giving. The goal of this program is to establish the foundation for a lifelong commitment to leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy. Throughout the school year student leaders execute their own fundraising initiatives, review grant proposals and allocate the money they raise to local nonprofits offering services that benefit youth.
This program is sponsored by Toledo Community Foundation and facilitated by Leadership Toledo.
In spring 2019, YIPEE leaders awarded over $16,000 to 12 youth-serving organizations and are striving to distribute even more this year. Historically, grant amounts have ranged from $1000 to $2500.
• Organization must be registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit and provide proof of charitable status
• Must provide services benefiting youth in the greater Toledo area
If the submitted proposal meets the guidelines above, your organization may be contacted to give a brief presentation about the grant request in greater detail.
Grant amounts will be announced in April 2020 and awarded in July.
